2011 NFL fixtures announced

James Horan didn’t have to wait too long to find out details of the first clutch of competitive matches he’ll be facing in his new role as Mayo manager, as details of next year’s NFL fixtures have just been announced.

Our 2011 league campaign begins with a tasty home tie on 6th February against beaten All-Ireland finalists, Down, and two weeks later (February 20th) we have a second home match, this time against Munster champions Kerry.   The following Sunday (February 27th) our first away match takes place, against neighbours Galway, and two weeks after that (March 13th) we’re back home again, this time entertaining this year’s Division 2 champions, Armagh.  The following Sunday (March 20th), we’re away to the Dubs (nice home fixture for me, that one) and two weeks after that (April 3rd) we’ll be rolling out the red carpet at McHale Park to welcome the NFL and All-Ireland champions Cork.  The campaign then ends the following Sunday (April 10th) with a trip to Monaghan.

Full details of all the 2011 NFL and NHL fixtures are here.

  1. WJ – I’m looking for season tickets for 2011. No sign of them being on sale yet? Would you have any info?

  2. Croke park will e-mail season ticket holders when there up for sale, normally around end of november, when i here anything from them i’ll post here.

  3. Just spotted a typo there wj, were playing cork on the 3rd april, were playing all our match’s on sundays something to do with the lights mybe?

  4. Thanks for that, Mick – it’s my mistake; the correct date is Sunday 3rd April. As you’ve pointed out, all our matches are on Sunday afternoon and that includes the away ones as well. I’d’ve thought that the Dubs match in Parnell Park would have been a Saturday night job but that’s down for the Sunday as well. They’re all 2.30 pm throw-in as well, by the way.
