Cork team for Sunday named

Cork have this evening named their team to face our lads in the league at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday (throw-in 3pm). Full details of their starting fifteen and subs are as follows:

Cork (NFL Division One v Mayo, 7/4/2013): Ken O’Halloran (Bishopstown); John McLoughlin (Kanturk), Jamie O’Sullivan (Bishopstown), Michael Shields (St. Finbarr’s); Paudie Kissane (Clyda Rovers), Noel O’Leary (Cill na Martra), Tomás Clancy (Fermoy); Aidan Walsh (Kanturk), Graham Canty (Bantry Blues); Mark Collins (Castlehaven), Fintan Goold (Macroom), Andrew O’Sullivan (Castletownbere); Daniel Goulding (Eire Og), Barry O’Driscoll (Nemo Rangers), Paul Kerrigan (Nemo Rangers). Subs: David Hanrahan (Douglas), Eoin O’Mahony (Macroom), Brian Shanahan (Carbery Rangers), Conor O’Driscoll (Ilen Rovers), Donncha O’Connor (Ballydesmond), James Fitzpatrick (Carbery Rangers), Pearse O’Neill (Aghada), Liam Shorten (Beal Atha’n Ghaorthaidh), Denis Crowley (Bishopstown), David Goold (Macroom), James Loughrey (Mallow).

That side shows just one change from the one that folded so easily against Kerry two weeks ago and the sole alteration is an enforced one too, with the injured Alan O’Connor being replaced at midfield by Graham Canty.

No more than ourselves, Cork have significant injury problems at the minute too – as well as O’Connor they’re also missing regular first team men such as Eoin Cadogan, Patrick Kelly, Ciaran Sheehan and cruciate victim Colm O’Neill.  Donncha O’Connor and Pearse O’Neill are both available to play but both are named on the bench for Sunday.

  1. Ok Cork team, missing a lot of household names. Have a good feeling about Sunday…Up Mayo

  2. Alan O’Connor,Eoin Cadogan,Ciarán Sheehan,Patrick Kelly,Colm O’Neill some amount of talent missing and from what i hear Daniel Goulding is only half fit. Great opportunity for Mayo to take the two points on offer i feel.

  3. All our U-21s missing as well as they are playing Tipp during next week.

As an aside James Loughrey on the bench was an Antrim inter-county half-back only last year. Supposed to be a good player, lives in Cork now.

  4. This will be a tall order no matter what …..it blows that its not live…will be shown delayed here on Premium Sports. Poor choice for the live game as Mayo/Cork have more to play for.
