With most of the action involving us over the previous two weeks taking place on the Saturday, it’s made sense to do this post on the Sunday but the weekend just gone saw matches involving us on both days with the men’s match taking place yesterday. That means shifting this one to today so as a result it’s welcome to the first Monday match reports post of the year.
Let’s start with the men’s game yesterday. Here are the links to the coverage of the win over Meath at MacHale Park.
Next, it’s the LGFA match against Donegal yesterday evening.

Finally, onto that resounding camogie win on Saturday. Mayo Camogie have a detailed match report on their website (here) while the Connaught Telegraph also carry a brief report on it (here). Ciara Buckley has loads of match photos from the game in Tooreen on her Memories thru a Lens Facebook page – that’s here.
That’s the lot from those encounters. Looking ahead, the GAA’s CCCC is due to announce later on today details of dates, times and venues for all the NFL promotion and relegation play-offs, including ours. Like many other ties, the venue for our match with Clare is set to be decided by a coin-toss.
Crazy stuff, I know, but sometimes the GAA just don’t seem to be capable of seeing what the obvious right thing to do is. Every one of these matches should be played at a neutral venue but it appears that none of them will. As I said, all a bit bonkers.
Don’t forget that the MOTM poll from yesterday’s match against Meath is still open and will be for several hours yet. Back this evening with confirmation of the winner there.
