Right – time to haul down the shutters for the festive season and take things easy for the next week or so. Excitement levels are building here, with the little Dubs licking their chomps in anticipation at what the lad in the red suit will have in store for them on Christmas morning (Dublin or, indeed, Mayo jerseys don’t feature on their lists this year). With inter-county football resuming again early in the New Year, it’s a good time to relax and forget all about black, yellow and red cards for the last few days of 2008.
So, Happy Christmas to everyone out there who, like myself, remains afflicted by the Mayo GAA bug. Thanks for dropping by in such large numbers over the past year and thanks too for all those comments and emails. Once we’ve all drawn breath over the holiday period, we’ll all, no doubt, be ready for more of the same in 2009.
That’s it then, except to leave you with my favourite Mayo-related GAA image of the year. Ho! Ho! Ho!
Happy Christmas to you and yours Willie Joe, thanks for the regular updates, between yourself and An Spailpin, it’s fantastic to have such resources available online for Mayo related reading, sans the spin that always comes through the print media.
Many happy returns, Stephenite. Keep the comments coming in ’09 – they’re the only thing that keeps me on the straight and narrow!
A very Merry Xmas to you and the family WJ…..Let’s hope 2009 is a particularly green and red one!!
I’ll drink to that, Mayoman, many happy returns!
