Becher’s Brook up ahead in Mini-League

It’s been a few weeks since I updated y’all on progress in the mini-league.  In terms of what’s been happening, here’s the short version: that Galwegian cuckoo is still leading the way (hopefully that’ll be all he has to shout about come July 19th) and I’m doing stupendously well, sitting as I am in the lofty position of fifth.  Here’s the full table:

Mini-League Cship Table 1 July

As you can see from the table, there haven’t been too many dramatic charges in an upward (though Mortified’s rise from tenth to second constitutes impressive progress) or a downward (with the honourable exception of An Spailpin, who has spiralled downward from 11th to 26th) direction since my last review of the placings.  However, this weekend sees the start of the qualifiers and so there are far more matches down for decision so there’ll be more points than normal up for grabs.  Not only that, a number of these ties are hard ones to call (Louth v Tipp, anyone?) so we could see a wide variation in scores this weekend.  Like the real championship, the fun is, I think, only beginning here.
