Mayo’s camogie team began their Nancy Murray Cup campaign this afternoon and they did so in fine style, recording a huge win over Donegal.
The match was played up in Buncrana this afternoon and Mayo came away from the trip north with a whopping 7-26 to 1-1 win. By the sounds of it, it was one-way traffic from the word go and the match was well over as a contest by half-time at which point the visitors were 4-13 to 1-1 in front.
Donegal failed to register another score in the second half, whereas Mayo added another 3-13 to their tally. Their winning margin at the finish was a yawning 43 points.
That’s all I have, I’m afraid, in the way of details on today’s game. Mayo Camogie will, though, be doing a match report on it and, assuming it’s online by early Monday morning, I’ll include it in the usual match report round-up then.
Next up for Jimmy Lyons’ team is a home fixture against Tyrone. That’ll be played one of the days over the coming Bank Holiday weekend but fixture details have yet to be confirmed for it.
Tyrone also provide the opposition tomorrow in the Minor C camogie Championship. That game is set for Adrian Freeman Park in Tooreen with a 2pm start. Tickets are available for the game, the link for that is here.
Lads I need one single ticket for tomorrow anyone help?
I’d say they’ll be any amount of single tickets available outside Jurys Hotel and surrounding areas tomorrow
That chat the legendary Josie Ruane had with the Mayo Camogie team a few weeks back seems to have rubbed off alright!
