Live podcast recording on Friday night

Ahead of the start of this year’s Connacht Championship – and just before the National League final – we’re doing a live Mayo Football Podcast recording next Friday evening (31st March). The venue for this is Solan’s bar in Ballaghaderreen where Mike, Rob and I will be joined by a number of special guests from both sides of the Mayo/Roscommon […]

Podcast is humming along nicely

Those of you who have already signed up as Mayo Football Podcast club members on Patreon will know that we’re chugging along nicely so far this year, doing what we can to keep step with the impressive swathe being cut in recent weeks by Kevin McStay’s New Model Mayo team. The condensed schedule of League matches has meant we’ve established […]

All roads lead to Dr Hyde Park for this afternoon’s top-of-the-table National League Division One meeting between ourselves and Roscommon. The game throws in at 2.45pm, Kildare’s Brendan Cawley is the ref and it’s being shown live on TG4. Sunday match reports

It might only be the middle of January but yesterday we had a club from the county contesting an All-Ireland title while the Mayo footballers were beating Galway in the FBD, having earlier in the day reportedly also got the better of Westmeath with another county team in a separate pre-season joust. Time for the return of the match reports […]

They lost at the end by just two points, on a scoreline of 1-17 to 1-15. This was a marvellous performance by the tight-knit, hard battling […]

The GAA yesterday confirmed fixture details for next month’s All-Ireland Intermediate club hurling final between Limerick’s Monaleen and our lads from Tooreen. This title decider will be played at Croke Park on Saturday, 14th January under the lights at 7pm. The Intermediate final forms part of a Croke Park double-header and there’s Connacht involvement in the other game too. That’s […]
