Sunday match reports

Right, the only way to do this is quickly and with as little pain as possible. Here’s what’s online in the way of match reports and all the rest about our loss to Tyrone up in Omagh yesterday evening. Locals: Mayo News, Western People, Connaught Telegraph, Midwest Radio. Nationals: Irish Times, Irish Independent, Irish Examiner, Irish Sun, Irish News. Others: […]

The weekend’s matches

The weekend is fast approaching so it’s time for a quick run-down on the matches involving teams from the county that are coming up over the next few days. We may as well start with the big one. That’s the footballers’ Division One Round 4 clash with Tyrone at Healy Park, Omagh, on Saturday evening. Throw-in for this game is […]

Hurlers maul Monaghan

The county’s hurlers today made it two wins from two outings in this year’s National Hurling League. Following last weekend’s win on home turf over Armagh, the lads travelled to Castleblaney to face Monaghan this afternoon where they proceeded to maul the Farneymen by 5-20 to 0-9. Match reports are available from the Connaught Telegraph and Irish Independent. Now well […]

The obvious place to start is the win for the lads over the Dubs on Saturday night: Locals: Mayo News, Connaught Telegraph, Western People, Midwest Radio, Dublin Live (live blog). Nationals: Irish Examiner, […]

Our hurlers get their League campaign underway as well, also with a home match. The lads are in action first in what’s arguably the match of the weekend. Their National League Round 2 […]

Monday match reports

We’ve had our first Mayo match of the year, our first defeat of the year in the form of a first-ever loss to London and we’ve also had the first call made by a contributor here on the blog this year for the management team to consider their positions. What a time to be alive. It’s definitely time, too, for […]

Brave Tooreen bow out

Tooreen battled bravely all afternoon in today’s All-Ireland Intermediate club hurling semi-final at O’Connor Park in Tullamore but in the end their opponents Castlelyons of Cork just shaded the contest, winning by 1-12 to 0-13. The game’s only goal, scored by the Cork side midway through the second half, was instrumental in deciding the outcome of this contest. Tooreen had […]
