Ticketing details for this weekend’s matches

This is just a quick one to provide some details on tickets for this weekend’s three Mayo matches. Let’s start this time with the big one, the men’s NFL Division One clash against Armagh at the Athletic Grounds on Sunday (throw-in 3.30pm). Mayo GAA cautioned earlier today that tickets need to be bought now to avoid disappointment, adding that, due […]

Next weekend’s fixtures

We’ve a Bank Holiday weekend to look forward to in a few days time – the new St Brigid’s one – and we’ve got three Mayo matches to keep an eye on this weekend too. The county’s hurlers are in action first. Having suffered relegation last year, they’re now operating in Division 3A of the National Hurling League, a level […]

Saturday match reports

We’re still only in pre-season (just about, with our opening League match this day week) but we claimed our first FBD title in eleven years last night in the Dome so it’s worth having a quick look at the media coverage about that. Here it is: Match reports: GAA, RTÉ, Western People, Midwest Radio (includes post-match audio), Roscommon People, Irish […]

Team to play Roscommon named

I was driving across the country this evening when the team to play Roscommon in tomorrow evening’s FBD final at the Dome (throw-in 7.30pm) was named. For the record, here it is: Mayo (FBD Connacht League final v Roscommon, 20/1/2023): Colm Reape (Knockmore); Jack Coyne (Ballyhaunis), Rory Brickenden (Westport), Enda Hession (Garrymore); Stephen Coen (Hollymount/Carramore, captain), Conor Loftus (Crossmolina Deel […]

FBD final tickets go on sale at 1pm tomorrow

Connacht GAA confirmed today that match tickets for Friday evening’s FBD final between ourselves and the Rossies at the Dome (throw-in 7.30pm) will go on sale online at 1pm tomorrow. As was the case for last weekend’s semi-finals, no concession tickets will be available for this game. Connacht GAA Secretary John Prenty, speaking with Michael Gallagher in the Mayo News […]

Friday night for the FBD final

It’s almost beyond our collective memory – well, not quite, but it has been a while – since we last played in an FBD League final but this Friday evening at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence Air Dome we take on Roscommon in this year’s provincial pre-season decider. Throw-in at the Dome is 7.30pm on Friday. Tickets – a […]

National League fixtures for next year

Provisional fixtures for next year’s National League have been provided to counties, with details reported in the media today. Colm Keys in today’s Irish Independent has a piece on this (here), which fills in some of the detail on our forthcoming Division One campaign. Having played all seven League matches away from home last year while the pitch redevelopment works […]

It’s Roscommon in the Connacht quarter-final for us next year

The draws for next year’s provincial Championships have just been held, broadcast live on RTÉ Radio One’s Saturday Sport show, and we’ve been drawn against Roscommon in the quarter-final. So, for Kevin McStay, his first Championship outing as Mayo manager will be against the previous county he managed, Roscommon. In what’s an utterly lopsided draw, the winners of our match […]
