Championship mini-league: time to join up

I’d completely forgotten about setting up the mini-league for the championship until the defending champion from last year, Mortified, gave me a timely nudge earlier this evening.  I’ve now done so and, as a result, it’s now over to all of you who want to join in the fun this year.

It’s the same routine as always, which is as follows:

  1. Log in (or register and then log in if you’re new to this) on the Face the Ball site.
  2. Join the main site’s 2010 Football Championship competition (you need to join the main one first before you can join the mini-league).
  3. Once you’ve done this and are in there, you’ll see a load of links on the left-hand side of the page.  Click on the one that says “Join Mini League” and this will then prompt you to enter the mini-league’s ID code which is: kSy14O6x5r8o
  4. That’s all there’s to it.

Best join it right away, as the first matches are on this coming weekend (they didn’t bother about including the Galway/New York match) and so the deadline for the first round of predictions is already approaching rapidly.

  1. keep getting “wrong id try again” when I click on join mini league and enter this; kSy14O6×5r8o. whatsup??

  2. Hi Albany – I’m not sure what the problem is: have you copied the code directly from the site and pasted it in? If not, try that and see if it works. In the meantime, I’ll raise the issue directly with the Face the Ball lads to see what might be the problem with it.

  3. Got a response from Face the Ball, who said to make sure that you don’t include the full stop at the end of the code when pasting it in. I’m not sure if that’s what it is but could someone try this and then post a comment here to confirm whether or not this does it? If it doesn’t, I’ll get back onto them.

  4. Hi WJ.

Think I see the problem. When you paste in the code, delete the 8th character (the cross kind of yoke) and replace it with a lower case x. It worked for me that way.

  5. Ontheroad is onboard WJ. We start as equals but I believe its going to be hard to predict this year with backdoor and a tough Ulster not to metion Connacht. Mayo or Sligo? who from the winners of that v Galway? Thanks for your work and away we go.

  6. Hi Dan, that’s great thanks. I’ll post an update on the site to highlight this fix.

Ontheroad – which route were you able to use to gain entry in the end? Was it the deleted full stop or via the invite?

  7. WJ, I copied and pasted their own one, it worked for me. I tried the normal way and left out the full stop but that didnt work. So , copy and paste did the trick.

  8. well lads this is my first time joining the prediction league, i had no problem setting up the account on the main page, but i can’t join the mini league,
    “wrong id” keeps coming up.

  9. sorry lads tried it again and i’m now in.
Nice to see ya at the bottom there wj 🙂
