Championship prediction mini-league – second update

FaceTheBall

Okay, we’re in proper countdown mode ahead of Saturday’s Connacht semi-final meeting with Galway at MacHale Park (throw-in 7pm) so it’s as well to start clearing the decks to get ready for this one. Time, then, for a quick update (the second in the series) on how things are shaping up in this year’s championship prediction mini-league.

The leaderboard after Week 5, i.e. the weekend just gone, is set out in the table below. It’s still very tight at the top, with just over twenty points separating first from tenth, and with every match – bar Tipp/Cork yesterday – going along expected lines it’s those who can get closest to the exact margin of victory that are doing best. I’m sticking in there in seventh – how about yourself?

  1. You are doing okay Willie Joe. I gained a point on you this week but i am still 24 pts behind you. I have moved up the table.

  2. Thought I did OK to match top two this week but still dropped to 6th on the back of some very big numbers from Pj Damien and Gates and. I will be on Thier tails next week. Just about staying ahead of you Willie Joe good show Roll on Sat and Castlebar hon

  3. Well done yourself WJ. Had three exact margins myself this week but I’ll say no more. However mid table is not bad and I think the future is bright! Congrats to Modell at table end , just joined, 168 first time!!!!

  4. Lads, where’s the pints pre game next Saturday? Come on WJ, one of the most sucessful blogs in the country and nothing organised. Shame on you.

  5. Edward, we,re all going in early to support the hurlers.
    No pints before it.
Need the eyesight in focus to follow the small ball!

Bring in cans for between the 2 matches maybe? Then adjourn for Champagne in Ballyheane after galway are beaten…
