The business end of the 2017 football championship is rapidly approaching and so too is crunch time in this year’s championship prediction mini-league. To be honest, if you haven’t made your move by now in this year’s prediction competition it’s most likely too late. This is because, believe it or not, there are just fifteen matches left to play in the 2017 championship season, with four of those being contested this coming weekend.
One person most definitely on the move in the past week is new leader Niamh Bourke, who charges up from sixth to top spot, with erstwhile leader Declan Leonard slipping down the rankings to eighth. Up too is the young lad – rising from 11th to fourth after a cracking weekend where he got all but one of the match results, including Roscommon’s shock win, correct. He hasn’t given up hope yet either of claiming back-to-back championship prediction titles.
I even raised a small trot myself this week – I went for the Rossies too – with the result that I’m up to 19th overall. It’s too late for me to make a challenge for major honours but a place on the leaderboard is, at a stretch, still a possibility. What about yourself – did you rise on the Rossies’ coat-tails or tumble with the Tribesmen? The updated leaderboard is below.
