Cáirde Mhaigheo is this year once again hosting a Christmas lunch with the Mayo Senior football panel and management. This year’s event will take place at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin on Friday, 23rd November.
I was at last year’s inaugural lunch myself and it proved to be a very enjoyable occasion, as well as a chance to mix and mingle with like-minded Mayo GAA nuts. Every table in the Great Room at the Shelbourne was occupied for the event last December and demand is sure to be equally strong for this year’s event.
It’ll be the same format as last year, with a player or management team member at each table. Lunch will be followed by a Q&A session hosted by the day’s MC, Mike Finnerty, and the day will also feature an auction, where, if last year’s one is anything to go by, the items to go under the hammer will be keenly fought over.
This is a major Mayo GAA fundraising event and tables (of ten) are available at it for €2,500 each. Half tables are also available, priced at €1,250, as are individual slots at €250 each. Those interested in booking full or half tables should contact paulbyrnesmedia@gmail.com while anyone who wants to book an individual place at the event should contact pro.mayo@gaa.ie.
Throw-in time at the Shelbourne for the event is midday on 23rd November. What time the final whistle sounds later on that day is, though, entirely up to yourself on what promises to be a occasion to look forward to.
There you go again Willie Joe! There is no pause button on this roller coaster!!
I didn’t say I was hitting the pause button, Catcol! It was just that we’re easing off a bit (though not completely) on the podcast over the next while. That said, November and December are always the quietest months on the blog and I’d expect that to be the case this year too.
How did trials go today
Does any one know if the season ticket is valid for the mayo v ny game in May as the first round of the championship ?
It’s not Hman. It’s a one-off fixture under the control of NY GAA and tickets for the game are not being made available in advance.
@Hman, nope, it doesn’t cover the New York game. It did in ’09 but most people with them on the day still paid the 20 bucks. In 2014 it was stated that the season ticket wouldn’t cover it. If your’re planning on going to the game, make sure to get out to Gaelic park EARLY, get in and have a burger and a few beers! 🙂
With the amount of people that are going to NY, I predict there will be more people outside Gaelic Park next year than inside …
Any reports on yesterday’s trials
Thanks guys will have to get there early!
