  1. Won’t that be a notable achievement when The Mitchels do win on St Pats Day?!?! Three to the county . Has any other county done this?

  2. Group 1 is very interesting from a south Mayo perspective. Close neighbours Garrymore, Davitts, Claremorris all in the one group….not an inch will be given in those games.

  3. Daunting but exciting draw for my Stephenites. While ourselves and Cross may not be the heavy hitters of a decade ago there will still be a lot on the line when we meet as there always is!!
Mitchells will probably come out on top with a little bit to spare but it will be interesting to see who has the best young up and coming team between Cross and Ballina.
Of Course Ballinrobe will be licking their lips at a chance to take out one if not both of the former North Mayo heavy hitters making an interesting sub group within the group!!!!

  4. Aghamore will be an interesting team to follow. A lot of Mayo U21s and Senior panellists coming through. Will no longer be so reliant on Alan Freeman.

  5. It would be important for the likes of the Stephenites to make progress this year. They have been a shadow of former teams in recent times. Is it true that they used to have a town league between a no of teams which gave the foundation to this great club and that is now disbanded?
It’s likely that what’s happened in Ardnaree has also occurred across the river.I heard said that in 1970 Ardnaree had 10 players from the street on the team whereas now there’s not one. I suppose it’s the same in all towns to the teams detriment. But then what about Castlebar. Interesting stuff!

  6. My pick to make it through to the quarters are: Garrymore, Aghamore, Knockmore, Ballagh, Breaffy, Castlebar, Crossmolina and Ballintubber.
