Even the big freeze-up couldn’t prevent the annual Club Stars bash going ahead in the Knockranny Hotel in Wesport on Friday night. Castlebar Mitchels’ popular captain Richie Feeney was the big winner on the night, as he took the Mayo News/O’Neill’s senior Club Player of the Year award for 2010 while the winners of the equivalent intermediate and junior awards were Brendan Prendergast from Tourmakeady and Parke’s Tom Walsh respectively.
The Club Stars Team of the Year comprised five players each from county champs Ballintubber and beaten finalists Castlebar, with two from Knockmore and one each from Crossmolina, Breaffy and Ballinrobe. Club Mayo Dublin have full details here on all this year’s winners. Hearty congrats to all concerned.
Jason Gibbons is one for the future. He won one of those two years ago as well. Hope James Horan freshens up the county and give a few of those lads a decent crack. I wouldnt be able for the same stale old fish this coming year.
