The one-match-only Mayo jersey that the team will be wearing in tomorrow night’s National League Division One game against Kerry at MacHale Park (throw-in 7.15pm) has been revealed. That’s it in the image above and very nice it looks too. Kudos to Croí, Mayo GAA and Elvery’s for helping to make this initiative happen.
Don’t forget that tomorrow evening’s match will be preceded by a panel discussion hosted by Croí at An Sportlann, which gets going at 5pm. Liam Horan is MC for this event, which will feature, among others, TJ Kilgallon, Andy Moran, Liam McHale and Marc Ó Sé. Details on that are here.
All this is, of course, weather dependent. You all know as well as I do about the dire weather forecast for tomorrow evening and many, myself included, are planning on driving a considerable distance to get to the game.
I’m not, of course, in any position to say whether or not the match should go ahead tomorrow night. From a selfish personal point of view, however, it’d be good to know sooner rather than later what the plan is.
any fear might be cancelled with winds? hope not we travelling from wicklow
They need to make a call tonight. Met Eireann have issued a status red for Galway tomorrow afternoon. Castlebar ain’t exactly a million miles away! Pushing to late Sunday afternoon seems the sensible thing to do.
Statement just released
Decision to be made in early morning in conjunction with croke park
Surely they won’t be wearing green against Kerry?
I’m sure Kerry will wear their Gold or their new Blue change stripes for the occasion.
