Yesterday’s win over Galway was secured thanks to the way a number of our players stood tall in the heat of battle. None more so than Diarmuid O’Connor, whose totemic performance at Pearse Stadium yesterday helped to keep us in it during a difficult first half and then helped to drive us on to victory after the break.
Diarmuid wins the MOTM poll with 26% of the vote. Earlier on today, the Ballintubber clubman also won the vote for the GAA’s Football Player of the Week award, becoming the latest in a long line of our players to pull off that particular double.
Others who featured prominently in the poll on yesterday’s game include Paddy Durcan (22% of the vote), David McBrien (19%), Tommy Conroy (8%), Colm Reape (7%) and Sam Callinan (4%). Well done to all of them and in particular to Diarmuid O’Connor, our MOTM from yesterday’s game.
Well done Diarmuid. Emptied the tank as usual. Hopefully he can repeat next weekend. Vitally important to this team.
Hello All,
A remarkable young man.
Hoping Stephen Rochhford’s experience of preparing a team to play Dublin, commentating for TV, will be of great value for Sunday.
Am very hopeful.
Ciaran2.
We are seeing the benefits of Diarmuid playing more centrally under Mcstay. It is perhaps the most significant positional change introduced by the new regime and not before time. You can sense the trust Mcstay has in Diarmuid
I’ve banged on about it here for years that he was wasted by Horan at wing forward. He was a number 11 all day long.
Mighty Mo… Well done Diarmuid.
Covers a remarkable amount of ground. Classy unsung hero who pops up everywhere
Well done Diamuid another one of your fine performances, also great to see Cilian making a positive appearance also.
Congrats to Kevin, Stephen and all the backroom team and of course.our warrior’s.
Anytime you beat Galway is a good day.
Parfaic Joyce should take his beating like a man and Shane Walsh needs
to decide which foot is the most reliable, a good footballer but he is not
anything close to Clifford, he is a snowman, a fancy Dan.
I see the Sunday game are honing in on Ryan O Doohue in the same maner
as Lee Keegan, Tomas O Shea the main culprit. This has ton be adressed
by the County Board and make strong representation to the relevant body.

A fantastic footballer who gives it absolutely everything he’s got in every single game. Was completely out on his feet with 10mins to go yesterday….but kept soldering on. What a soldier !!
Some man! Does his job without fuss including the messy unappreciated stuff that his teammates love. Well deserved motm Diarmuid.
