Dublin have named their team for tomorrow’s NFL Division One semi-final against our lads at Croke Park (throw-in 3.45pm). Well, to be more precise they named their team last night but the pints I ended up having last night combined with this morning’s U8 hurling have meant that I’ve only got around to posting details now. Here’s the Dubs’ starting fifteen for tomorrow:
Dublin (NFL Division One Semi-Final v Mayo, 14/4/2013): Stephen Cluxton (Parnells); Kevin O’Brien (Naomh Mearnog), Jonny Cooper (Na Fianna), Darren Daly (Fingal Ravens); Philly McMahon (Ballymun Kickhams), Ger Brennan (St Vincents), Jack McCaffrey; Michael Darragh Macauley (Ballyboden St Enda’s), Cian O’Sullivan (Kilmacud Crokes); Jason Whelan (Ballymun Kickhams), Diarmuid Connolly (St Vincents), P Flynn (Fingallians); P Mannion (Kilmacud Crokes), Paddy Andrews (St Brigid’s), Bernard Brogan (St Oliver Plunkett’s/Eoghan Ruadh).
Dublin haven’t named their subs list at this stage.
The above team shows two changes from the one that started up in Ballybofey last weekend, both in the forwards. Gone from then are Tomas Brady and Kevin McManamon who are replaced by debutant Jason Whelan and a lad by the name of B Brogan respectively. The back six is the same as that which faced Donegal but there’s a bit of positional shuffling (at least in terms of jersey numbers).
Compared to the side that started against us at HQ last month, Jim Gavin’s team for tomorrow shows five changes. Rory O’Carroll (injured), Declan O’Mahony, Tomas Brady, Ciaran Reddin and Ciaran Kilkenny (also injured) all miss out tomorrow and are replaced by Philly McMahon, Michael Darragh Macauley, Jason Whelan, Paul Mannion and Diarmuid Connolly.
THIS is the year of the dubs this dublin team are the new heffos army

You are probably right. Dublin are my pick for all honors in 2013, Mayo will have to up a gear and hope to stop Bernard brogan getting on the ball.
Mayo 13
Dublin 2 12
Am not so sure Dublin are overated and its only the league correct me if I am wrong
I don’t think Dublin are overrated, they almost pulled back a 10 point lead last summer against a fresh Mayo team.
Looking at the Dublin team Mayo will some have joy against that full back line and maybe midfield. No doubt they are hyped up however they probably do have the strongest panel in Ireland though if Bernard Brogan was to get injured it would hurt them more than Andy Moran’s injury hurt Mayo.
It’s true the media are always hyping up the dubs remember 2011 the nealy got caught by Donegal Kevin McMeanamon saved them that day from getting beat that day I still think mayo have chance and I am not having a go the dubs
Hey lads time to stop doubting. It’s all on the day. Who wants it more. Not what jersey you ware or what accent you have. Believe.
We;ve seen the Dubs at their best this year but not Mayo and Mayo at their best can beat any side………Therein lies the problem for the Dubs, they dont know which Mayo will turn up and Im sure that they would have given a choice, prefer to play any other team in this semi than us, if we beat them, they slide back and the doubts will creep in. We on the other hand have nothing to lose as we have already reached bonus territory and we always relish playing them. I think we will click tomorrow and for the first time sofar this year get it all together……Our lads by 3 to 4 pts. Maigh Eo Abu
Hi All,
I just want to wish Mayo the best of luck tomorrow, hope its a good honest game. Just to clear something up, the media always hype up the Dubs we (the genuine supporters who follow the league etc and not the hill in August and onwards if lucky) always have doubts as the team can sometimes believe too much of this hype. I think its a very close game and I cannot believe you guys are 5/2, I am a gambling man but I would never back against the Dubs but that price is another example of Dub hype…..enjoy the game all! Up the Dubs
Thanks for your wishes Martin , am engaged in usual banter with future daughter in law (who’s a Dub) and wants sweet revenge and bragging rights in lieu of AI semi last year. Here’s hoping for a cracking game .
