The County Board confirmed yesterday via Twitter the dates, times and venues for our 2015 FBD League campaign, which is now just over the horizon early in the New Year. As was the case this year, we’re bracketed with NUIG, IT Sligo and Roscommon for the coming year’s pre-season round of matches.
This time, though, all of our matches are home ones and, for a change, two of them will be played in Castlebar. The campaign starts on Sunday, 4th January, with a match against NUIG at MacHale Park. A week later, on January 11th, IT Sligo are the opponents at James Stephens Park in Ballina while the Sunday after that (18th) it’s Roscommon, back at MacHale Park. All three matches have a 2pm throw-in time.
Do season ticket holders get free entry to these matches
Fbd not covered by Cairde Mhaigheo passes
no, these are connacht council fixtures.
Would be nice to see Fbd games spread around county such as Ballinrobe & Charlestown.
Probably all three games would be in Castlebar if Ballina hadn’t made an issue last year of the concentration of games there to the detriment of other grounds. Moral of the story: Shout loudly if you want to be heard.
Same venues as I posted on here some time ago the county board are slow releasing information 😉
Border Boy I couldn’t agree more.
Border Boy, remember last January? We did a fair bit of traipsing around the country! #WesurvivedBekan !! (I still have not found out who those 3 ladies were that saved me and all my gear from that downpour with their umbrellas! Thanks again girls).
I’m almost sorry we won’t see Bekan again this year .. .oh wait. No, I’m not.
Former Sligo footballer Eamon O’Hara is the latest ex-player to announce the start of his managerial career, he has been confirmed as the new manager of Mayo club Ballaghaderreen!
Yes O Hara has been rumoured for that job for a while now ballagh finally made it official. Anne Marie you might make the trip to bekan yet as one of Mayo u21 games will be played in the Connacht gaa centre against Wicklow I think.
If Sean Burke is about: The following are the fixtures for the U21 Football 2015 Hastings Cup:
Hastings Cup Group 3 – Round 1:
Westmeath – V’s – Mayo, Saturday 3rd January at 2.00p.m.
in St. Loman’s, Mullingar
Hastings Cup Group 3 – Round 2:
Mayo – V’s – Monaghan, Saturday 10th January at 2.00p.m.
in James Stephens Park, Ballina
Hastings Cup Group 3 – Round 3:
Mayo – V’s – Wicklow, Saturday 17th January at 2.00p.m.
in Ballyhaunis G.A.A. Club
Hastings Cup & Shield Semi-Finals
Saturday 24th January, Times and Venues T.B.C.
Hastings Cup & Shield Finals
Saturday 31st January, Times and Venues T.B.C.
That’s U21 group that Mayo should finish top. Monaghan probably the strongest and biggest challengers. Kerry,Galway are taking part it would be a good competition to win and should be decent preparation for the championship.
Yep i agree mo2014 , important competition especially when you take into account the early championship for 21s . Have to admit im more interested in hastings cup than FBD .
