Things have quietened down nicely hereabouts over the last while and, with Christmas Day now all but upon us, it’s set to get even quieter, ahead of the start of a new year of action once 2022 gets underway.
Before then there’s a nice gap to kick back and relax over the Christmas period. It’s been a crazy year in every sense and, like last year, there have been fair weightier things to think about than what might happen on a football field.
And, of course, it’s a second successive Covid Christmas, with all the complications and, for many, the worry that comes with it. Will we ever see normality again? We will, of course, but when this will happen is another day’s work.
What’s happening now is that I’m logging off for the festive period. Thanks all for your company over the course of the year, I hope you all have a happy and safe Christmas.
Happy Christmas Willie Joe, thanks as always for all the hard work throughout the year. . Happy Christmas to all the reader’s and writer’s on this Blog and fellow Gaels in Mayo and all over the world.

Good man Willie Joe, thanks for everything.
Thanks for all the hard work keeping the blog going, Willie Joe. Onwards and upwards for 2022. Make sure you’re ready to rock and roll for that last chapter in your book.
Happy Christmas Willie Joe, thanks for providing us with this wonderful resource of all things Mayo GAA/LGFA, it’s my first port of call when I’m looking for info and opinion.

Willie Joe
Thank you for keeping us all together through the year. It’s been another roller coaster ride for us Mayo folk. The highs were fairly high and exciting. The lows were bleak enough. But darkness turns to light, always. Looking forward to another year of excitement and hope we enjoy the effort our teams put in on our behalf. Happy Christmas to you and to my fellow journey men, women and children on this blog. It’s been a privilege. Maigheo go deo.
In fairness Willie Joe, you do keep smacht on a lot of us here and thanks for that. If not, all I can see is a mushroom cloud….
I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. Nothing to do today except watch a bit of racing and check to see if there’s a bit of change in it, in case the wren boys come. A lovely time of the year. There isn’t much of it left now.
Thanks WJ. This is a wonderful, inspiring site. I regard this blog as one of the main drivers behind the unique support that Mayo GAA teams get at all matches.
For myself, and many other people living outside the county, who comment and even just visit the site, it is the single source of truth for all things Mayo GAA.
You should be rightfully proud of what you have acheived, and I hope you can see fit to continue for as long as you can. If ever you need a hand, I for one would be glad to help. I am sure I echo the sentiments of many.
Blessings of the season to you WJ … and a happy and exciting 2022. (We live in hope.)
Happy Christmas to you and yours Willie Joe. Thanks again for all you do with the blog.
