Happy Christmas

Christmas tree

Once again, Christmas is almost upon us following another tumultuous #mayogaa year, this one having delivered an All-Ireland title for us. We wanted the big one too, of course, but winning the Tom Markham Cup does mean that we can mark down 2013 as one where we saw some tangible success and, having licked our wounds since September, we’ll soon have a new year of action and a new push for the summit to get our collective teeth into.

But in the meantime we have Christmas and it’s time to down tools here for the holiday period. Before doing so, I’d like to thank everyone who has visited the site over the past year and in particular to pay tribute to all those who have contributed to it – that tsunami of wonderful guest posts in the run-up to this year’s final will live long in the memory for me. Thanks too, once again, to Mick for all those great photos that I’ve made liberal use of throughout the year. Thank you all, have a great Christmas.

  6. Merry Christmas to all and best wishes for 2014. What a year it has been for our superb Minor team who made 22nd Sept 2013 a day to live long in the memory. And while we fell short in the main event that day, with our main opponents’ hunger being satisfied for now, I firmly believe 2014 will be our year. Special thanks to our Senior and Minor players and management for their huge efforts, personal sacrifice and unwavering dedication to Mayo football once again in 2013 and for making it a long and memorable summer for us supporters. Roll on Jan 10th !!

  21. I hope everyone on here had a happy Christmas and I wish ye all a safe, peaceful and happy new year.
Thanks WJ for this wonderful outlet and resource that allows us to vent our frustration (rightly or wrongly). More importantly, this year in particular, it has acted as a counselling service for us all heart broken supporters. As I said previously, if we feel bad well just imagine how the players and management feel? Early vibes from the squad are positive so let us all build on that.
Onwards and upwards. As was shown in the darts, “Mayo for Sam 14”
