It was victory on the double for hurling teams from the county this weekend.

This afternoon at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park the Senior hurlers rounded off a perfect NHL Division 3A campaign by getting the better of Sligo in the final by three points. With a 100% winning record in the division coming in to today’s decider, our lads were strong favourites to prevail and that they did, winning by 3-19 to 3-16.

Reports on today’s divisional final are available at Irish Independent, Irish Examiner, RTÉ, GAA, Ocean FM.

Yesterday, meanwhile, the county’s U20 hurlers beat Donegal at Letterkenny in the All-Ireland U20B hurling quarter-final. That one finished 2-10 to 0-14 and Mayo GAA have a report on it here.

Well done to both teams on their wins this weekend.

  1. Brian Finn deserves massive credit, managing both teams. A gentleman to the core. Always positive, always encouraging and getting results.

  2. Well done to the hurlers in both grades. They definitely deserve more credit for their achievements.

  3. Well done to the hurlers. Winning your division with 100% record is excellent achievement

  4. Well done Brian Finn, a definite candidate for Mayo Man of the Year in my view, with all the time and work he has put into hurling in the county at all grades over the past 20 years.
