Hurlers maul Monaghan

The county’s hurlers today made it two wins from two outings in this year’s National Hurling League. Following last weekend’s win on home turf over Armagh, the lads travelled to Castleblaney to face Monaghan this afternoon where they proceeded to maul the Farneymen by 5-20 to 0-9.

Match reports are available from the Connaught Telegraph and Irish Independent.

Now well in the hunt for promotion from Division 3A, next up for Mayo are Cavan, who have one win from their first two games and who beat Louth by six points yesterday. This match will be played at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park on Sunday week (throw-in 2pm).
