As the dust settles on last weekend’s Mayo Intermediate and Junior club football Championship semi-finals, Mike Finnerty and Edwin McGreal sit down to look back at the main storylines from the big games.
First up for discussion is the latest chapter in Kilmeena’s success story as they knocked out Moy Davitts to march into the Intermediate decider, twelve months after winning the Junior. Then the lads look at how Ballyhaunis qualified for their third Intermediate final in four seasons by beating Hollymount/Carramore last weekend.
After that it was time to chat about Ardnaree’s dramatic relegation play-off win over Lahardane to stay Intermediate for 2023. Last but not least, Mike and Ed talk through the Junior Championship semi-final wins for Cill Chomáin (after extra-time against Killala) and Islandeady, who edged out Shrule/Glencorrib.
