Those of you who’ve joined our podcast club on Patreon will know that we’ve been busy since the start of the year. By this Wednesday evening, in fact, we’ll have released our 60th podcast of the year, with fifteen of those also made available for free on other podcast platforms.
If anything, we’re quickening our pace this week, ahead of the big game with Galway on Sunday. We’ve already released a scene set pod on Patreon, in which Mike, Rob and I provide an overview of the week ahead, and that’s going online generally within the hour as a bonus free episode.
Later tonight club members will get exclusive access to another episode, hosted by Rob and featuring Colin Sheridan along with Ciaran Murphy of Second Captains, who together have a no-holds-barred discussion about the Mayo/Galway rivalry.
We’ll have two other shows looking ahead to the Galway game over the coming days, one featuring podcast regular Barry Cullinane and the other our usual pre-game Here Comes the Weekend show with Mike and Billy Joe, which will also feature a well-known ex-Galway player.
We’re not forgetting the U20s or the Minors either. We’ll have a Final Whistle pod out after the U20 decider with Sligo on Wednesday is over and we’re hoping if possible to do the same after the U17 match against Leitrim on Friday evening.
We will, of course, have a Final Whistle show from MacHale Park on Sunday too with a full match review pod to follow on Monday. There’ll be further shows to come next week as well in the wake of Sunday’s match.
The Discord match-day chat for the Galway game is already open for club members and that’s sure to be hopping on the day, at which point the podcast team will also be active on it, providing updates on team news and other match-related stuff as it comes to hand.
It’s going to be a wild enough week all told and club members will be in the middle of all this build-up as we count down the days to what’s set to be a pivotal clash between ourselves and the neighbours.
If you haven’t yet joined the club – which costs no more than the equivalent of a single pint every month – then now’s a good time to take the leap. The link to do so is here.
