Junior and minor teams for the weekend named

The junior and minor teams who are both in action this weekend have just been named.

First up the juniors who face Kerry in the All-Ireland final on Saturday at Cusack Park, Ennis, where throw-in has been set for 2.30pm. The team named tonight includes three lads who have featured in the senior panel this year – goalkeeper Paul Mannion, Michael Walsh and Micheál Forde – and full details of the team and subs are as follows:

Mayo (All-Ireland JFC Final v Kerry, 25/8/2012): Paul Mannion (Mayo Gaels); Michael Walsh (Ardnaree), Liam O’Malley (Burrishoole), Barry Leonard (Lahardane); Michéal Forde (Ballycastle), Ollie Feeney (Islandeady), Oisin Quinn (Bohola Moy Davitts); Ronan McNamara (Davitts, Captain), Peter Collins (Islandeady); Padraic McManamon (Burrishoole), Enda McManamon (Burrishoole), Simon Cloherty (Parke); Aidan McTigue (Davitts), Colin Dempsey  (Swinford), Alan Egan (Bonniconlon).  Subs: Rory Byrne (Castlebar Mitchels), Niall McCormack (Islandeady), Conor Horan (Swinford), Ger McDonagh (Castlebar Mitchels), Joe Kelly (Swinford), Kevin Gibbons (Louisburgh), Michael Moran (Burrishoole), Fergal McGrath (Davitts), Sean Kelly (Bohola Moy Davitts).

Next up the minors who, following that cracking win over defending champions Tipperary in the quarters few weeks back, face Meath – backdoor winners over Ulster champions Tyrone – in Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final at Croke Park (throw-in 1.30pm). The team and subs named for this one are as follows:

  2. Best of luck to our minors and juniors over the weekend. Both very strong selected teams. It’s great to have 3 teams left in the mix at their respective levels.
