Junior final fixed for Ennis

It’s now been officially confirmed that the All-Ireland junior football final between our lads and the Kerrymen will take place at Cusack Park, Ennis, on Saturday, 25th August with a 2.30pm throw-in.

I know there was some talk about this decider being added to the Croke Park bill the following day – which would mean that we’d have both the minors and the juniors to shout for at HQ then – but geopolitical logic GAA-style always pointed towards a junior showdown in the Banner County, an outcome that’s now been confirmed. Well, the last All-Ireland we won – at U21 level back in 2006 – was in Ennis so I guess it’s got to be seen as an acceptable venue for this one too.

  1. Could the GAA not have fixed this game before the Mayo v Meath (minor) in Croker? three teams, three different venues on three different days seems a little silly.
