Westport’s Sacred Heart School lost out narrowly to Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblaney, in today’s All-Ireland Post Primary Senior A Championship final at Banagher. Well down at the break, the Westport school mounted a strong second half comeback, cutting the deficit to two points but Castleblaney held out to win by 1-8 to 1-5 at the finish.

It was a first ever All-Ireland title victory for the Monaghan school on what was a tough day for Sacred Heart, as this was their second successive All-Ireland final defeat. Commiserations to them on today’s loss but they can take great pride nonetheless in once more getting as far as they did in this year’s Championship.
