The men’s Championship run may be over for the year but for the women it’s all still to play for, as the LGFA Championship reaches the knockout stage.
Finishing second in their group meant that Michael Moyles’ team would face an away quarter-final and on Sunday they were drawn to face Galway. The teams have, of course, already met this summer, having contested the Connacht final back in early May, a game and a Connacht title that was won by the Green and Red.
Their All-Ireland SFC quarter-final meeting takes place on Saturday week (15th July) at Pearse Stadium, Galway, where throw-in will be 1.30pm. Tickets for the game are available to purchase here and the game will be shown live by TG4 Sport.
Separately, the county’s U16 footballers are in LGFA All-Ireland semi-final action this evening. Their All-Ireland A semi-final against Cavan takes place at St Faithleach’s GAA club, Ballyleague, where throw-in is 7.30pm so just about now. The very best of luck to them in it.
The best of luck to both teams in their continuing adventures. Maigh Eo Abú!
Best of luck to the Mayo ladies sides. They are our last people standing in the championship, now that all of the men’s sides have been knocked out, so hopefully there will be a decent Mayo contingent travelling.
Best of luck to our ladies team this weekend
Good luck ladies.
