The LGFA earlier today confirmed fixture details for this year’s Championship.
In light of the disruptions caused by Covid-19, the LGFA decided to scrap the provincial competitions and go instead with a round-robin format comprising four groups of three counties. The winners of the four groups advance to the All-Ireland semi-finals.
Today’s announcement provides outline dates for the round-robin games as well as for the semi-finals and final.
We’re in Group 4 along with Tyrone and Armagh. They meet in Round 1 on the weekend of 31st October/1st November, while we wait until Round 2 the following weekend to play our opening match. That’s against Tyrone and then the weekend after that we face Armagh.
If we top the group and make the semis we’ll be in the second semi-final, which is against the winners of Group 3. That’s all but certain to be Dublin and the match will be played on the weekend of 28th/29th November. The All-Ireland final is fixed for Sunday 20th December.
