LGFA League fixtures confirmed

With Covid-19 restrictions once more easing and the football set to resume shortly, all eyes are now on who the county’s football teams will be playing and when.

The LGFA were first out of the traps in this respect, when they published their fixture details for the upcoming LGFA National League campaign that’s set to get going in late May. We’re in Division 1A, along with Galway, Donegal and Westmeath.

Round 1 takes place on Sunday, 23rd May, with Rounds 2 and 3 set to follow over the following two weekends. Then there’s a week’s break ahead of the semi-finals – in which the top team in Division 1A plays the second-placed team in 1B and vice versa – with the relegation play-offs contested the same weekend too. All of the divisional finals then follow two weeks later, on 26th/27th June.

Our campaign gets going with a home match against Galway on 23rd May. Then on 30th May we’re away to Donegal and on 6th June we’re away again, this time to Westmeath.

  1. Anybody know if LGFA games will be broadcast? It should be possible to avoid clashes with the men’s games if decision makers are willing to cooperate.
