Mayo News football podcast live event

Yesterday evening at Gaelcholáiste Chomáin in Rossport, we held a Mayo News football podcast live event, which was streamed live on Facebook. Hosted by Rob Murphy and I, the show featured Edwin McGreal and Ger Flanagan from the Mayo News, as well as special guests Nigel Reape and Ciaran O’Hara. You can watch it all back here.

  1. That was excellent – well done all. Hope a huge amount of dollars are raised with the fundraising. People want to contribute and be part of it. James so right bringing the whole panel for the training camp. The pride we all have in this team is unreal. How our spirits have risen again in the last few months.

  2. Any movement on appointing the commercial manager? The New York gig would have been a great start for the appointee.

  3. really enjoyed this one, despite the fact that I had to make do with a dodgy enough 3G reception to watch it.
Great initiative, would be great to see more of this.
Did you bring the sandwiches in the end John?.

  4. Hopefully there’ll be more of this, FDB. I didn’t need the sandwiches – I got well fed in Tarmonbarry on the way down and there was pizza in Denny’s Ferry Bar for us afterward the event so we were well sorted for grub.

  5. Well done to all… brilliant service for updates on Mayo GAA… we are talking it for granted now but boy kudos to the blog team for what has to be a huge draw on your personal time ??

  6. All – just for info, I’ve now embedded video containing full coverage of last night’s event directly into the post above. It’s on YouTube so no need to be logged into Facebook (if that’s not your thing) to view it.

We’ll also be putting the audio of the event out as a new podcast episode. That’ll be online in the morning.

  7. It was excellent. Certainly enjoyed the preview of the NY game and the Championship ahead. Looking forward to hearing the game on Midwest radio. Great to put faces to the voices from the podcasts. Well done to all involved in the broadcast. Mayo have a great chance this year. But one game at a time. ??

  8. I look forward to watching the above – what a really interesting initiative. We are spoiled. And I for one am delighted : ) Thanks to Willie Joe for all the work keeping us informed. We are on the cusp of the new season – hurray!

  9. Really enjoyed this broadcast. Many thanks to the students, the presenters, sponsor, and especially to you WJ. The discussion on north Mayo football rivalry was very entertaining. Great to hear them talk of the friendly folk of that area. My most favorite place in Ireland. They really are special community. A great days work for sure.
