Here, courtesy of TG4 Sport via their YouTube channel, is the live stream of this afternoon’s All-Ireland U17 quarter-final between Mayo and Kildare. Throw-in at O’Connor Park in Tullamore is 2.30pm today.
Best of luck to the lads this afternoon. Up Mayo.
Just a quick reminder to everyone that this is an U17 match and the players involved are aged 15 to 17. They’re not yet adults so anyone making comments about the performance of the team or named players needs to bear this in mind and act accordingly.
Well said Willie Joe, couldn’t agree more. Thanks for link as I cannot make Tullamore today, only got the Visa stamped for one trip across the Shannon this wend!
Best of luck to players and management today, this is the best group of minors we had in some time. Team is full of talented individuals but management has done a great job of gelling them together. Our full back line has been brilliant so to our twin treat up front. Hopefully Ronan Clarke and Niall Hurley keep up their scoring form. There has been others that have been putting in serious shifts for the team like Diarmuid Duffy. Really looking forward to the game.
Anyone know if there Was there a team named yet ?
Early signs from the Dublin Galway game look good.
Galway repeatedly opening up the Dublin defense in a way they never managed with us. On another day they might be a further 3 or 4 goals ahead. Shooting costing them badly keeping the tie close but Dublin’s lack of discipline already costing them a black card (with a few minutes remaining in the start of the second half) and with a few yellows could end costing them even more as tackles get tired.
Won’t mean much when the ball gets thrown in for the Kildare match but a positive sign for us fans the quality in Connacht is in the same ballpark as the Leinster sides.
Its posted on the Mayogaa twitter page, same starting team that played in the connaught final. Only change on the bench is Rory Conway coming back in.
Noticed a change in goalkeeping coach, David Clarke is now list as Goal keeping Coach, Shane Nallen was involved previously.
If Galway go in to beat Dublin – and they looking good at ht- it would mean the three provincial winners – Dublin, Cork and Tyrone- will have list their quarter finals
Southmayo Exile, thats an usual statistic that all the provincial winners have lost thus far. Galway ahead by three to down the straight but as we seen yesterday its never over till its over. Hopefully its not a trend in our game
Good win for Galway, can we break the provincial winners curse! I think that we can as we have a good team and definitely the best and most consistent team in Connacht.
Galway have made it 3 from 3 for provincial losers, hopefully thats where it stops. Come on Mayo.
Delighted with that Galway win.. but by God they made hard work of it.. Dublin were very poor and extremely ill disciplined.
That result augers well for Mayo..
3 losses b4 today and in to a semi…
Strange the way the provincial winners have been falling. Just shows that nothing can be taken for granted in this age group. Hoping Mayo can buck the trend. Good luck to Sean Deane and his team.
Anyone else having a problem getting the link??
Not working for me??
Tuamstar, a good win for Galway. It just tells you how young the teams are when so far every provincial winner has lost. Galway have lost 3 championship games and are in an All Ireland Semi final. Its great that young lads are getting so many games. Back in the day they’d be long gone and forgotten about
You like to see winning underage teams but in reality it’s better to see three or four really talented players because the vast majority of minors will never put on a senior jersey.
Hilly Bits – the link to the YouTube stream is https://youtu.be/PC9fcZ_TrkM. Try that if the embedded one on the blog isn’t working (though it is for me).
Niall Hurley and Ronan Clarke work very well together.
U17s are 3-5 to 1-7 up at half-time. Goals from Niall Hurley (2) and Ronan Clarke. We were playing against a stiff wind in that half but opted oddly for long, high kickouts, which Kildare won 80% of and which have given them a lifeline. With that issue sorted and the wind now behind us, you’d fancy our lads to win this one.
Very good going forward. Refreshing to watch.
Hopefully with the wind they push on
Niall Hurley looking incredible again. Really classy player. The link up between he and Clarke a joy to watch.
Breeze looks nasty out there, caused havoc on a few handpasses never mind Dolan’s restarts, so playing with that in the second half should help.
Minors leading 3-05 to 1-07 at half time. 2 ‘soccer’ goals in the space of 20 or so seconds. Great spectacle, much better than the other 3 QFs
It’s a great start to be 4 up against a strong breeze. Hopefully they don’t fully abandon running at that Kildare backline even with the wind as they have them at 6’s and 7’s and more goals are there for them
Well said Willie Joe in your first comment.
Great first half, Maheady and Duffy putting in a great shift, Clarke and Hurley working their magic. Ronan Clarke has the beating of his man has pace to burn.
Mixing up their play very well. More scores to come forwards looking very slick.
Mayo putting on a shooting exhibition. 3-12 to 1-09 half way into 2nd half
Id start 5 or 6 of themIn the quarter final 🙂
Best minor team I’ve seen since 2013
3 12 to 1 9
with 45 min played
Easy peasy
Maigheo Abu
Great workrate from the mayo lads. By far the best team.
Great performance but again like the senior team we simply cannot finish a team off and always let the opposition back into it.
Whats the draw for semi, surely Galway dont play Mayo yet again?
Fair play to them. Bit of a wobble at the end but had enough done.
Smart forward play at the end by Hurley to calm things down.
Great win lads!
Minors win 3-18 to 3-12. Bit of a scare at the end with w late Kildare goals but they weathered the storm
After a blip its all over
3 18 to 3 12
Galway playing Derry..
we have some fine footballers in that minor team. it was a joy to watch
Sorry , Galway v Derry and Mayo v Kerry.
Mayo have a talented and well coach team, will be interesting to know who they play in semifinals, possibly Kerry who beat Tyrone (Ulster winners). Well done lads!
Super win and performance. No harm for young lads to get a bit of a scare towards the end. Keep them grounded for the semi final.
Sorry, Galway playing Derry and Mayo v Kerry.
Subs played an important role again. Olivier Armstrong took some great scores and Zac Collins clipped in too. Niall Hurley MOM for me with his game intelligence and scores. McMonagle the pick of the backs
That was some game of football
Mayo have some great talent, especially up front.
Kildare must be sick of the green and red after this weekend.
Oliver Armstrong looked very impressive, as were the Hurleys and Clarke.
I hope they go all the way and win it now.
Been following the minors at games and on tv all season and they are a joy to watch.
Kildare were no mugs either, great win, serious display of points in the 2nd half.
The kingdom awaits them, will it be another mirror fixture in tomorrow’s draw I wonder ?
Great win. Very enjoyable to watch, Some great point scoring. Credit to Kildare for never giving up. I agree the ending will do the lads no harm going forward. Ver=y impressed with how they kept their nerve and did not panic as Kildare came back at them. Plenty of potential there.
Well done lads
Mayo v Kerry. Mayo will fear no team.
Hurley and Clarke are better natural scoring forwards than anyone we had starting yesterday.
Obviously not ready yet but the raw talent is immense
Hurley in particular is a two footed tommy Conroy
Thanks Tuamstar. Could well be a Galway v Mayo final then.
Agreed Mayo Messi savage work rate from half forward line
Was in Tullamore and very impressed with the Mayo win. If only the seniors had the u17 forwards they would be unbeatable.
The Kildare scoreline does not justify their performance.
