While much of the talk in Mayo today will be on the All-Ireland football final between Mayo and Tyrone the weekend after next, there’s another national title down for decision between the two counties later on today.
This is the final of the Nancy Murray Cup – essentially camogie’s equivalent to hurling’s Nicky Rackard Cup – in which Mayo play Tyrone at Páirc Seán MacDiarmada in Carrick-on-Shannon. Throw-in time is 5pm today.
By a curious coincidence, Mayo beat Tyrone in this year’s Rackard Cup decider and we also beat them in the group stages of the Nancy Murray Cup at the start of this month.
There’s silverware on offer for the winners today and if we win it it will cap a quite remarkable return to inter-county camogie action for Mayo this year. Here’s hoping they’ll do it.
Today’s match programme is here and the live stream below comes courtesy of the Camogie Association via YouTube. Up Mayo!
