Mayo and GMIT teams for tomorrow named

The team that’ll play GMIT in the FBD League at Ballinrobe tomorrow (throw-in 2pm) has been named. Here it is:

Mayo (FBD League v GMIT, 15/1/2012): David Clarke (Ballina Stephenites); Eoghan Reilly (Castlebar Mitchels), Ger Cafferkey (Ballina Stephenites), Michael Walsh (Ardnaree); Peadar Gardiner (Crossmolina), Keith Higgins (Ballyhaunis), Lee Keegan (Westport); Barry Moran (Castlebar Mitchels), Pat Harte (Ballina Stephenites); Conor O’Shea (Breaffy), Darren Coen (Hollymount/Carramore), Kevin McLoughlin (Knockmore); Evan Regan (Ballina Stephenites), Danny Kirby (Castlebar Mitchels), Conor Mortimer (Parnells, Dublin).

Subs: Conor Campbell (Swinford), Donal Vaughan (Ballinrobe), Alan Feeney (Castlebar Mitchels), Richie Feeney (Castlebar Mitchels), Seamus O’Shea (Breaffy), Jason Gibbons (Ballintubber), Michael Forde (Ballycastle), Enda Varley (Garrymore), Alan Dillon (Ballintubber), Keith Rogers (Ballaghaderreen).

As you’d expect from one match to the next in the FBD, tomorrow’s team sees widespread changes – six in all – from the side that started last weekend against Leitrim. Ger Cafferkey, Michael Walsh, Keith Higgins, Conor O’Shea, Evan Regan and Conor Mortimer all come into the side in place of Keith Rogers, Donal Vaughan, Colm Boyle, Seamus O’Shea, Enda Varley and Michael Conroy. Three lads will be making their senior debuts – Michael Walsh, Evan Regan and Conor O’Shea – with the latter’s appearance meaning that, come sundown tomorrow, all three O’Shea brothers will have appeared at senior level for the county.

GMIT have also named their team and subs for tomorrow’s game. Here are the details (with info on the county they hail from in brackets):

GMIT (FBD League v Mayo, 15/1/2012): Brendan Walsh (Mayo); Myles Kelly (Mayo), Aonghus Tierney (Galway), Diarmuid Lee (Galway); Cathal Sweeney (Galway), Johnny Duane (Galway), Jason McLaughlin (Cavan); Aidan Walsh (Mayo), Sean Boyle (Mayo); Darren Durkan (Mayo), Johnny Ryan (Galway), Niall Prenty (Mayo); Diarmuid Cronin (Wicklow), Patrick Sweeney (Galway), Niall Farragher (Galway).

Subs: Anthony Coyne (Galway), Darren Clabby (Roscommon), Donagh McIntyre (Donegal), Eoin Ward (Leitrim), Peter Laffey (Sligo), Nathan Lally (Mayo), Paul Mannion (Mayo), Barry Sheridan (Mayo), Stephen Tighe (Mayo), Darragh Quinn (Mayo), Fiachra McGinley (Donegal), Stephen Kavanagh (Galway).

And there was me saying that there didn’t seem to be too many Mayo lads within the opposition’s ranks for tomorrow!

  1. Sorry to be pedantic WJ, and thanks for the info regards the team selection, but Keith Rogers is definitely a Ballaghaderreen man. I wonder will Shane McHale feature again, not this week, but next week in the FBD?

  2. The majority of players get a second chance under James Horan in this league. A player can’t be judged on one outing. We may not see Alan feeney or Jason gibbons tomorrow has both had bad back and broken bone injuries. Hopefully Kirby and coen will kick on from good performances last week. Great to see youth like Conor o shea and evan Regan starting.

  3. Is Conor Campbell anything to Aidan? Good to see Keith Higgins out the field, I always thought he was a bit restricted in the full back line.

  4. @ Digits, same surname, same club, still no relation!! Connor is a good keeper, hope he gets a chance.

  5. would brendan walsh, ballintubber, be getting a look in, in goal if he wasnt with GMIT, obviously when hennelly gets fit he will back in the squad
