Mayo Football Podcast episode: chatting with Fiona McHale

The Mayo ladies star is one of the most interesting, insightful and outspoken people in the country when it comes to Gaelic football.

Mike chatted to Fiona about Mayo’s recent trip to Cork that turned into something of a farce before the LGFA league match was actually played.

They also talked about everything from double-headers, to integration, to Cora Staunton’s new coaching role with Ballina Stephenites.

Fiona also told us what it’s like to play under Liam McHale and how Mayo are shaping up for their last two National League games.

This new podcast episode is now online and is available to our club members on Patreon – it’s HERE. To get access to this pod and to all our other great content for as little as €1 per week, join the club HERE.

The Mayo Football Podcast has partnered with EBS — The Mortgage Masters — this season.

EBS are looking to hear from Mayo supporters who are living at home or abroad who might be looking for some mortgage advice. They have an office in Castlebar where you can arrange an appointment to call in for a chat, or you can find them online by searching for ‘EBS Castlebar’ or by clicking here.

  1. Loved that chat with Fiona. Fair play to her and indeed all the women concerned and shame on the powers that be for the struggles that our mothers, sisters and daughters have to go through. The LGFA in particular need to get their house in order because those of us that watch a lot of ladies/girls football know it’s a game well worth watching.

  2. Late on this but listened today and it’s a great chat. What a great spokesperson for ladies GAA.

Ridiculous to think the success we have had from our ladies and they play second fiddle.

WJ, Fiona mentioned a fundraising campaign, is there any links to that for donation?
