  1. Remembering 1989, and my excitment with been a 10 year old in national school, following the mayo team. This team, sparked my love affair with Mayo Gaa. That’s 35 years ago, had a young manager, who had broken mold, as we hadnt got to a final in decades, and along came John O’Mahony. And was totally giddy when he returned to manage mayo after leading the auld enemy to the promise land twice. But John had alot going on the second time, and maybe in hindsight not correct time for John or Mayo. But what a man, just such a positive person. I sure alot of guys that he trained/ managed around the west of Ireland, will be sad today.

  2. Rip John he brought mayo football back from the wilderness and gave us some great days out. 1989 was magical
