Mayo Football Podcast episode: Setting the scene for Sunday in Salthill

With the countdown on to Mayo’s biggest match of the year (so far), we travelled to Galway to gauge the mood.

Mike sat down with former Galway defender Finian Hanley and Colin Sheridan of the Irish Examiner at Blackrock Cottage in Salthill, just a short stroll from Pearse Stadium.

The lads talked about the enduring rivalry between the counties, how it’s changed over the years, the mood in the two counties at the moment and how they feel Sunday will go.

It’s a lovely chat about football, families and why the Connacht final still matters to so many people. Enjoy!

  1. As much as Finian pissed me off with his dad’s hatred of all things Mayo, I can understand, I wouldn’t drive a car with an RN plate if I got for nothing.

  2. Haha! I thought that was just me.
I would drive a G reg car but not a chance a RN.

  3. Comer back in the starting lineup. Imagine we’ll be without Diarmuid or Paddy
