Mayo News football podcast: Christmas special

mayo-news-football-podcast-christmas

It’s been a while, more than two months to be exact, but the Mayo News football podcast is back. With Christmas now only days away, it’s time to look back at the football year and look ahead to what 2017 might hold for us. No better place to do that than in the podcast.

Rob Murphy’s back in the chair hosting the podcast and I’m back with him, discussing the main issue of the past week – the Pat and Noel tell-all – as well as some other stuff. Rob then has a wider year-end debate, which was recorded before the Indo went to press on Saturday.

You’ll be glad to know that, because of when it was recorded, this latter discussion concentrates squarely on the on-field action in 2016. Rob is joined for this part of the podcast by Mike Finnerty, Seán Rice, Daniel Carey and Ger Flanagan of the Mayo News.

The podcast is available to listen to on SoundCloud here:

  1. Just listening in now! Great to have a podcast in December. Thanks lads. PS I’m not one for the Christmas Pudding either!!

  2. Merry Christmas to you all. Especially you Willie Joe. Your site is a great link to something very important to so many.

  3. Listening now with a pint of Guinness on my couch. Maybe I should put on my Mayo jersey. Here’s to Mayo and Christmas pudding. Happy Christmas everyone. Thank you WJ. We will survive this.

Stand up for your Mayo men 😉

  4. Ironically today is the shortest and darkest day of the year. By the time the Connacht championship comes around next summer this latest furore will be a distant memory. Hell we might even be National League champions by then !!! Lessons will be learned this time – there’s no doubt. Onward and upward. Hon Mayo !!

  5. I have a suggestion that posting is suspended on 24the/25th in order that Willie Joe doesn’t have to moderate content.
All the ire has been released and raked over back and forth.
Derry in the North West cup can’t come quick enough.

  6. Btw I actually mean by turning off posting if that’s possible. Save you the hassle of wondering if some latest bile is being posted.

  7. That’d be the nuclear option, JP! One would kinda hope (indeed expect) that people would have better things to be doing on Christmas Day than loitering here.

  8. You’d be surprised wj. Mayoitis is incurable, a daily dose is needed to prevent shakes and sweats, even Christmas Day for some.
