The Minors take on Dublin tomorrow in the All-Ireland MFC quarter-final at Pearse Park in Longford (throw-in 3pm). Here’s the team we’ve named for the game:
Mayo (All-Ireland MFC v Dublin, 27/7/2019): Luke Jennings (Ballinrobe), Alfie Morrison (Louisburgh), Oisín Tunney (Breaffy), Aidan Cosgrove (Kiltimagh); Shaun Dempsey (Balla), Ruairí Keane (Mayo Gaels), Eoin Gilraine (Ballinrobe); Paddy Heneghan (Castlebar Mitchels), Ethan Henry (Mayo Gaels); Ciarán Mylett (Castlebar Mitchels), Owen McHale (Belmullet), Dylan Thornton (Ballina Stephenites); Paul Walsh (Castlebar Mitchels), Ray Walsh (Westport), Frank Irwin (Ballina Stephenites).
So it’s just the one change from the side that started in that thrilling extra-time Connacht final win over Galway at the start of this month. In comes fit-again Alfie Morrison at corner-back, with Owen McHale shifting up to centre-forward, thus displacing Ronan Hughes.
Just a reminder that this game is being streamed live on YouTube tomorrow: a link to the stream is here and I’ll also embed it into a live post here on the blog. All three matches played at Pears Park tomorrow are being streamed on this link.
The ladies’ match against Donegal – which throws in at O’Connor Park in Tullamore at 1.30pm tomorrow – is being broadcast live on TG4. The Mayo LGFA team was also named today (full details here) and it shows two changes from the side that beat Tyrone last time out. In come Dayna Finn and Fiona Doherty, out go Kathryn Sullivan and Roisin Durkin.
The best of luck to both Mayo teams tomorrow.
Nice one Willie Joe.. hopefully I will get a chance to tune in to it. Really enjoyed the Connaught final and the quality of the streaming was very good. It will be a though test again. With a bit of luck these young bucks will deliver again
Well done for all the info as usual. What a wonderful service you provide through this Blog. A win tomorrow for the U17s would be massive.
Good wishes to our two teams in championship action today (Sat.) Two wins would indeed nurture the feel-good factor within the county.
Only two lads from all the North Mayo clubs..wtf?
Best of luck to Tom Morley and the young lads. Tough assignment but a great challenge for them.
Mister Mayor – There are 3 North Mayo players in the team. Rory Morrin Ballina has a good chance of starting too so that’s over a 1/4 from the North!
What’s this about north mayo? Why is the constant talk about that? Is there the perception that Mayo teams need players from there? Only one east mayo player on the starting 15. Rubbish talk really when all regions have produced great players over the years on underage and senior teams.
Well done to the Minors – fantastic team work.
