Minors just fall short in Camogie final

The county’s Minors were narrowly beaten by Cavan in today’s All-Ireland Minor C Camogie final, losing out to the Breffni County at Markievicz Park by 2-5 to 0-8.

As I was at Croke Park myself today I didn’t get to see today’s decider, though when I checked in on the live stream shortly before half-time they were well in it, with the game tied at five points apiece. By the break, though, Cavan led by a goal, thanks to a major from Cavan corner forward Aoibhe Conaty.

The same player goaled again in the second half and in the end those two scores proved decisive as Mayo’s brave challenge just came up short.

Commiserations to the team on today’s result, after what’s been a very positive year for them. Congrats to Cavan on their All-Ireland victory.

  1. Hard luck to Mayo minor camogie players. To reach the final in Mayo’s first year back in camogie is a fair achievement and not to be made little of. They should be proud of themselves.
