Monday match reports

This post-match staple usually appears ahead of the Mayo News football podcast match review but over in the city that never sleeps Rob was up late last night stitching together all of the audio and so the podcast was already online by the time I’d roused myself this morning. It’s great, by the way, and you can listen to it here.

So, with the podcast already boxed away, it’s definitely time to get the match coverage sorted. It’s an easy enough job, in truth, as there isn’t a whole load out there on it. Here goes:

Locals: Connaught Telegraph.

Nationals: Irish Examiner, Irish Times, Irish Independent, Irish Sun.

Others: GAA (match report, quotes), RTÉ (match tracker, match report), The 42, Sports News Ireland, Buzz.

Photos: Sportsfile, Inpho.

That’s it. Ball burst, game over, on we go to the next one. Don’t forget that TG4 will have highlights of the match at 8pm tonight and don’t forget either to vote in the Man of the Match poll, in which voting remains open all day.

Support the team as their Championship journey continues. Play the Mayo GAA Lotto to be in with a chance of winning the €13,300 jackpot prize in tonight’s draw. There’s also a Mayo blue ‘alternative’ jersey up for grabs in the draw. Play the Lotto here.

  1. WJ under 20s won today is that a league format? Who are they playing over the league I’d say championship will be starting very soon a

  2. Our U20’s had a good win today over Donegal. Fuller details in the match report and play action on Mayo GAA twitter.

  3. Mayoforsam2k19 – I altered your handle back to your usual one. Mayogodeo is already used by someone else. The U20 game was a development league one, which is a precursor to the championship, which, as you rightly say, will be starting soon. I’ll lash out a quick post on this shortly.

  4. Will there be a transparent report on the fundraising activities in the US on how much was raised ?

  5. Under 20’s play Ros in their next league fixture on May 25th in Mchale pk.. Double header wit Senior semi… Todays game played in perfect pitch and weather conditions in Ballina.. Poor reflection on Co Board that it was not even on official website..

  6. Can someone confirm if the semi final will be in Castlebar even if Leitrim beat Roscommon next weekend. I thought I read somewhere they would have home advantage if they won.

  7. It will be in Carrick on Shannon if Leitrim win. Castlebar if it’s the Rossies.
