More injury news

The Western People has a report providing some further insight into the injury situation facing into the Galway match on Sunday week. As well as confirming that Ronan will be up against it to be okay to line out, the report classifies Trevor Howley’s problem as a “serious-looking leg injury” and they also add Trevor Mortimer and James Kilcullen to the list of players currently recovering from knocks.  The latter’s injury is reported to be a hand one and it’s stated in that report that the Ballaghaderreen man was due to see a specialist about it on Tuesday.  The odds on an O’Shea/O’Shea midfield on June 26th may, as a result, be shortening.

  1. Mayo may just stumble onto a winning midfield if Seamus can stay fit

  2. Lads, do we get an e-mail about the GAA Season Ticket for tickets for the match? Do we get hard-copies of them in the post?

  3. Yes Esther – got the e-mail yesterday. Hard copy stand tickets to issue next week.

  4. Interesting to see the poll ins now showing that the congregation is now showing that its faith in may winning Connaught has now recovered. Time is a great healer!

Having said that, there is no reason to doubt that we have the ability to win against both Galway and the Rossies if we just concentrate on the basics and get stuck in from the start.

    Keep the Faith!

  5. O’Sheas at midfield could be just what we need against galway two players who know each other inside out and have been playing at midfield for years together.

  6. injuries are not the biggest problem mayo face. mayo will not be competitive in connacht for the next three or four years. it will be like the 70’s all over again. there is no team in ireland or in the uk now that would fear meeting mayo. when mayo take the qualifier road after next sunday they will be the draw that everbody wants.. a soft touch. as a championship team they have no spirit, no plan, no footballers that will dominate any position on the field. a few youngsters again show promise but this year is way too soon for them to mature as good intercounty players .
the players that have been drafted in recently add nothing to the setup. at least mayo are not short on free takers.. they had about 7 the last day out.
