The latest edition of the Connacht Council’s mag Into the West is now out and, once again, it’s brimful of oodles of stuff that’s been going on across the province over the last few months. Once you tear yourself away from the big photo of Big Joe on the big front cover (an A3 one, by the looks of it), there are articles about the 2010 bursary scheme, the ongoing success of locallotto.ie, a piece by Tom McHugh about his fascinating Fatherandsondays initiative, a heartfelt plea from ex-GAA president and Mayo doyen Dr Mick Loftus on the need to break the link between sport and alcohol and a good in-depth piece about Scór. (Interesting, and completely beside the point, fact – I was once a Connacht finalist in Scór, many, many, many years ago). There’s also truckloads of news from within the individual counties about all manner of activities, all of which is worth a look.
As usual, this visual cornucopia of GAA-related info is just a click away. Go on, pig out on it here.
