We’ve done another refresh of the county jersey, with the new design revealed a few minutes ago. Here it is:

The new jersey will be available to buy this day week – 5th October – but you can pre-order it now. Details on how to do so are here.
Given my colour-blindness I’m painfully aware that I’m not best placed to make any kind of informed judgments on colours, styles and all that. For what it’s worth, though, I like the very clear delineation between the green and red and, to these afflicted eyes, the refresh looks like a nice, smart, clean design.
Right, all we need now is to get the manager appointed and we’re good to go for 2019.
Sorry, off topic. Did T Parsons play minor and u21 for Mayo?
Jersey looks good and I’m glad Tom Parsons is modeling it let’s hope he’s back in the green and red soon and best of luck to Sarah Rowe in Oz a great servant to Mayo she along with Diarmuid rocks the New Jersey too.
@Satriani, Yes he did, he played minor for Mayo in 2006. (I’m not sure was he part of the 2005 minor panel that got to the All Ireland Final as well). He played U21 for Mayo in 2007-2009.
Lovely new jersey in fairness, it’s like a hybrid of the 1989 jersey and 2003-2005 jersey. Lets hope the management team is sorted soon, without any more sideshows.
Satriani – there’s never any need to be wondering who played for the county and when. Full team lists – senior, U21 and minor – for all competitive matches played are in the results archive here on the site year by year. You’re right, by the way, Way Out West – Tom played minor in 2005 and 2006, as well as U21 from 2007 to 2009. He first broke into the senior panel in 2008 and ended that year on the Ireland squad in Australia.
Willie now I too am colour blind and often find it impossible to tell teams apart on the telly or at a game. But this jersey is class even to a colour blind man!
I’ve had the same Mayo jersey since 2002, but this new one may just tempt me to renew it. Nice and simple, looks great.
Anyone else hate the new O’Neills design they introduced at the start of this year, the actual writing of O’Neills on the jersey. I think it looks awful. Jersey is nice however!
Think the jersey looks well and being a lighter colour will be more suited to the hot summer weather that seems set to be a trend. The disadvantage we had with our dark green last year against Kildares white did have an impact in terms of one team feeling the heat more than the other. Put on a white t-shirt on a hot day and put on a dark green t-shirt if you think it is immaterial. It’s why Sligo should never go with their black strip in the height of the summer.
@ JP:) 🙂 🙂 Very good but Sligo have no worries about what colour jersey to wear at the height of summer 🙂
Crap.
With Cora away from the team, Sarah makes a very good replacement for the photo shoots i have to say!
Another example of Tom Parsons remarkable positive attitude … I think we can all agree that next year we would just love to see Tom achieve his dream and wear this new Jersey on the field of play! …://www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/2018/0928/998703-tom-parsons-i-have-somebodys-ligaments-in-my-knee/
@Dave johnston to be fair, Sarah is a bit more photogenic than Cora ever was.
Lads wtf is going in in Mayo Gaa? Word is now Solan has removed his name for job??
Evidently Horan is the new Mayo manager
Yep. Statement on the Mayogaa website, he’s withdrawn from the race. Who knows why – he may have felt with the rumours of the home visit that if he were to get it, it may feel like a tainted appointment.
Or whomever was due to be on his Management team may have indicated they would not be able to do it.
Reports that he has dropped out of the race. Looks like its all Horan ! Im actually quite happy. I think Solans day is yet to come. Dying to hear Horans backroom team.
Thanks Way out West. Willie Joe, I’ll do that in future.
Remarkable news, with most of his Mike Solans ,proposed high Calibre back room team already named!..Are things ever as they appear in Mayo GAA circles?….
