NFL 2011 Mini-League: the result

The league is over, the championship is being formally launched later on today and so it’s time to announce the final result in this year’s NFL mini-league which was hosted as ever by those good people at facetheball.com.

We have a clear winner alright and that winner is Yew Tree, who managed to hold off yengae over the run-in and claim top spot on the podium. It’s tough luck on yengae, as this is the second time he’s finished as runner-up. Yew Tree meanwhile joins SixPointsUp (fourth this year) and MickC (thirteenth this time round) in the NFL Mini-League Hall of Fame.  But can he now go on and complete a league and championship double?  And knock me, as defending championship mini-league winner, off my perch in doing so?  Bring it on, big lad.

I’m a tad disorganised at the minute so I haven’t got a sackful of prizes yet but something in the line of books and DVDs and such like will be winging its way to the newly-crowned champion shortly (shortly meaning as soon as I get around to sorting it out).

With the championship getting underway over in New York this coming weekend, we’ll also need to get the mini-league for that one up and running inside the next few days. From what I can see, the under-the-bonnet work hasn’t been completed on the facetheball site for that yet but no doubt this will be sorted soon. Once this has happened, I’ll post relevant details here on how to join the mini-league for the summer’s action.
