NFL Week 5 predictions – the results

One other loose end I didn’t manage to get around to yesterday was the outcome of the two predictions competitions which need to be reported on following last weekend’s fifth round of NFL matches so, a bit later than usual, here are the details.

Brian Gallagher is the weekly winner in the Setanta competition, having got closer than anyone else to the result in the Tyrone/Antrim game.  Brian wins a copy of Breandán Ó hEithir’s Over the Bar and he also goes forward to the draw that’ll take place after Week 7 for the overall prize of a year’s sub via satellite to Setanta Sports.  By the way, I know I’m a bit slow in sorting out sending the copies of the book to the winners from the last few rounds but I do intend to make it to the Post Office before the week is out so you can expect a delivery at some point inside the next week.

Onto the mini-league where things are coming to the boil rather nicely.  Yengae, the long-time leader, is still out in front but I’ve now been knocked off my perch in second spot by Yew Tree (I’m blaming the unpredictable nature – literally – of Division Two for this) and storming performances by both Naughty81 and forthecraic have also put them into the frame along with Barney in sixth. I think if any of the top eight or nine outperform significantly over the last two weeks, they can snatch it so it’s all there to be played for yet.
