NFL Week 6 predictions – the results

Okay, it’s results time on the weekend’s predictions, where we’ve got another weekly winner in the Setanta competition to reveal as well as a bit of a shake-up in the mini-league leaderboard.

The Setanta competition first, where this week’s winner is Edwin McGreal. I was speaking with Ed on Sunday evening and he told me he had Jason Doherty backed at 13/2 to score the day’s first goal so it certainly proved to be a productive weekend for him.

Ed wins the weekly prize of a copy of Over The Bar (that’s another one I have to post) and his name also goes into the hat for the grand prize of a year’s sub via satellite to Setanta. That draw will take place after the final round of matches next weekend.

Onto the mini-league, where there’s been some significant movement at the top of the table.  Long-standing leader yengae, who has been a model of  consistency over most of the campaign, finally hit the speedbumps at the weekend.  He falls to fourth, with Yew Tree taking his place at the head of the table.

I’ve moved back up to second but the new top man has opened a lead of 24 points so, with just one full round and the two finals left to go, his dash for glory looks to be perfectly judged.

  1. Sean Rice in this weeks Mayo News on the response to an email wondering how Mayo clubs were affected by emigration etc. Ardagh replied thus.

“Ardagh: “Ardagh GAA have not been affected by emigration as of yet this year or last. Alcohol and women… yes!” Priceless.
