Now that I’m six

Sixth birthday cake

As Mayo Mick alluded to earlier on in the comments, today is a day of some meaning here on the site as it’s exactly six years since its inception. My, how time flies …

The more that time goes by, the more I wonder how much longer I can keep this going but, don’t worry, I’m not going to descend into a Beckettian must-go-on-can’t-go-on-will-go-on monologue at this point. Instead, it’s best to reflect on what has been an interesting six years punctuated by a few exhilarating highs as well as a few crashing lows. Par for the course as a #mayogaa supporter, you might say.

Thanks for walking the road with me over the past six years and here’s to good times on the road that lies ahead of us.

  7. Team named for Sunday;

    1) David Clarke – Ballina Stephenites (Capt.)
    2) Shane McHale – Knockmore
    3) Ger Cafferkey – Ballina Stephenites
    4) Keith Higgins – Ballyhaunis
    5) Tom Cunniffe – Castlebar Mitchels
    6) Donal Vaughan – Ballinrobe
    7) Chris Barrett – Belmullet
    8) Aidan O’Shea – Breaffy
    9) Seamus O’Shea – Breaffy
    10) Lee Keegan – Westport
    11) Richie Feeney – Castlebar Mitchels
    12) Cathal Freeman – Aghamore
    13) Kevin McLoughlin – Knockmore
    14) Jason Doherty – Burrishoole
    15) Michael Conroy – Davitts

    James Horan – Manager
    James Nallen – Runner
    Tom Prendergast – Selector
    Donnie Buckley – Trainer
    Dr. Sean Moffatt – Doctor
    Liam Moffatt – Physio

Its and interesting one with both Lee and Richie being named in the half forward line. Not sure I like Lee here and think he should be maintained in the half back line, but time will tell on that front.

Will be interesting to see how Kevin McLoughlin plays also; if he drops deep and has a license to roam or if he plays more traditional corner forward role (I doubt it).

  8. Dont like the way the team is set up and looks like JH is try,n out a few things, better waiting till later in the leag. for that, we need to get a couple early wins on board espec. that our first 2 games at home, cant comment on a few the selections and ther positions there start,n until we see the team for ourselfs tomorrow performing….we hav to win and be sending out a message for the coming months especially stating with kerry an tyrone next sunday[they hav,t gone away]…priceless what 2 wins against ky. n tyr. woud do for the cofidence in the team heading for croker in afew weeks time….
