Poll: how will the Leitrim/London replay go?

The poll that was running here in the lead-up to the drawn Connacht championship semi-final between Leitrim and London produced a very close result, almost as close as the match itself in fact. But that was then and now the counties are faced with a re-match this coming Sunday at Hyde Park (where throw-in is at the odd time of 3.40pm), with the winners getting to go toe-to-toe with our lads in the provincial decider next month.

Paddy Power are, I see, offering the same odds on the outcome this time as they were for the drawn game, with Leitrim still the 8/13 favourites to prevail. But what do you think – who’ll make it through this time?

Who'll win the replay on Sunday?

  • Leitrim (67%, 50 Votes)
  • London (33%, 25 Votes)

Total Voters: 75

  1. If mulligan is out I think London will win. They are miles ahead of New York, I would never have thought so. Is there a lot of clubs in London?

  2. London will win. I picked Leitrim last week but with Mulligan out I can see London taking them. One saving grace may be for Leitrim to keep a clean sheet after conceding two goals last week.

  3. When Willie Joe tweeted the result of the poll and it was near 50/50 I decided to back the draw at 7/1. Thanks lads 🙂

  4. Ah I think Leitrim will win out this time by a few points. They have the measure of London now. Also think Dublin and Monaghan . Dublin will be a big threat this year. Dont know why others writing them off. They have quick forwards and are no longer solely dependent on Brogan’s. Our injuries are quite a worry. Hopefully the lads will be getting fitter.
For the lads who read this site -keep going lads – it is lonely away from the crowds but even a five minute cameo can be the difference between winning and losing. Your efforts appreciated by all fans! Keep it going.

  5. I hope its Leitrim. London are a cynical team who foul late and come in with late tackles/hits and would not play a nice style of football against us and would go out to target players

  6. Dont mind Leitrim or London.Dont think it will matter at all.

Teams including London are becoming cynical and a lot of that down to Tyrone and Donegal .Meath were part of it too. Just hope that when refs clamps down it wont start with Mayo- thats what often happens. Teams that initiate the cynicism are not the ones who pay.

Mayo have suffered down through the years from referees – I really think Mayo top brass need to ensure we get fair play this year- we do not want another re-run of Brollys clever hysterics last year. How we achieve that is another day’s work.

  7. Totally agree re comments on Brolly. County board were naive last year, they should have someone lined up to bite back at Brolly. Comments definitely influenced the ref. As Colm O’Rouke said last Sunday Brolly is the Donegal PRO. It wasn’t JH’s place to reply but someone should have. We need stronger people than McStay or Carney who are too afraid to speak up. There is a battle to be won off the field also and Mayo can’t be caught like that again..

  8. I think Leitrim will win it was the goals that almost won it for London last weekend i doubt Leitrim will leak another two goals this weekend.

David not sure how many clubs are in London but the club championship is fairly competitive, the winners play in the All Ireland quarter final Neasden gaels,Fulham Irish ran Crossmaglen,St Brigids close but this year (or last December) Tir Connell Gaels were well beaten by Dr Crokes.

Many Mayo supporters going to this game? the Mayo minor are in action.

  9. Still think Leitrim will win despite them getting out of jail last weekend, apparently they had a lot of wides and one of the London goals i seen on the sunday game was a bit of a blunder by Leitrim keeper.

    Leitrim by 5 points.
